  • We should not waste time trying to impress the servant, when there is a King to impress. We should never waste our efforts appealing to the servant for our need, while the King is the One in control. Even if the King had given some authority to the servant, we should know very well that the power to give and take rests ultimately with the King - Allah alone

  • One of the most important acts of worship that the child is asked to do with regard to his parents is to obey them, to do as they ask and to refrain from what they tell him not to do. So if his father tells him to do something, he hastens to do what he is told, and if he tells him not to do something, he hastens to give it up, so long as that does not involve any disobedience towards Allaah and his Messenger, because there is no obedience to any created being if itinvolves disobedience towards the Creator.

  • Indeed! One of the signs of Allaah’s love is following the guidance of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him). Allaah says in His Holy Book: “Say (O Muhammad to mankind): If you (really) love Allaah, then follow me (i.e. accept Islamic Monotheism, follow the Qur’aan and the Sunnah/prophetic teachings), Allaah will love you and forgive you your sins. And Allaah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful” [Aal ‘Imraan 3:31]

  • Indeed Allah asks us to be in the company of those who call upon Him, seeking His countenance and avoid those who are heedless of Allah. “And keep yourself patient [by being] with those who call upon their Lord in the morning and the evening, seeking His countenance. And let not your eyes pass beyond them, desiring adornments of the worldly life, and do not obey one whose heart We have made heedless of Our remembrance and who follows his desire and whose affair is ever [in] neglect.” (Noble Qur'an 18:28)
